Wonderful Day at the Coastal Carolina Christmas Arts Crafts and Gifts Show

Oh wow… I had such a fabulous time at the Coastal Carolina Christmas Arts, Crafts, and Gifts Show last Saturday at the Craven County Fair Grounds!!! My friend Sheri and I went and we ended up spending the whole day playing with crafts in one way or another. Such an inspirational day to say the least. Sheri was such a trooper being so patient while I asked around at the booths and then again after the craft show when I drug her through Michael’s, not once but twice!!

It was awesome to see so many talented crafters and artisans at the Coastal Carolina Christmas Arts, Crafts, and Gifts Show! Here is a peak at some of the vendors. Unfortunately, I couldn’t write or take pictures of all of them (there was over 80 vendors!), but this will give you a good idea of all the wonderful craftsmanship that could be found.

Some of the following photos will have links to the vendors where links are available. Some of the vendors can ship items and some can’t, but if you click through the links you can find as much information as I have.

Audra Style:

Audra Style (aka Audra Sampson) had a wonderful booth filled with painted signs and wine glasses. Her blue crab wine glasses were to die for! I wish I would have gotten a better picture of the super cute Grinch glasses she had done! (you can just see them at the top of the first picture). She does have a great picture of them on her Facebook page though so be sure to find her.

Audra can be found on Facebook at Audra Style as well as Instagram @audrasampson

Dream Catcher Alley:

Seeing a dream catcher booth was a great surprise. I don’t believe they were there last year and it isn’t too often that I find dream catchers in my neck of the woods.

Jessica Stauffer was such a sweetheart to speak with. I told her that I have made too many dream catchers to count and that started a whole interesting conversation. Jessica does a great job shaping the willow branches into such unique designs.

Dream Catcher Alley does have a full online storefront which can be found at dreamcatcheralley.com

They can also be found on Facebook at Dream Catcher Alley.

Reach For The Stars:

Cathy Dawson the “Chief Star Catcher” at Reach For The Stars was so nice. She even let me come behind the booth to take a couple pictures. These stars were so wonderful! They are made out of paper believe it or not!! I was fascinated with them! She also had some beautiful wreaths.

Unfortunately, I don’t believe Cathy has a Facebook page or website at this time 🙁 However, if you really want to get up with her comment in the comment section at the end of this post and I will see what I can do to make the connection for you.

Intarsia by Alice:

Alice Day was another unbelievable artist at the show. Her woodworking designs are just simply incredible. I am so in love with the Christmas Manger! The finish on all her items is so smooth and polished. She really does an excellent job on her creations.

Unfortunately, after talking to Alice, she cannot ship items because they are delicate and some are heavy. Alice also does not have a Facebook page or a website so I guess you will have to make sure to make it to the Coastal Carolina Christmas Arts, Crafts, and Gifts Show next year. You could also message me in the comments below and I will check if she is doing another show soon.

Beatrice & Lulu:

The b&l booth was so much fun!!! We found great signs, Christmas trees and so much more made out of wine bottles, bottle corks or reclaimed wood. Betty was so cheerful and an absolute pleasure to speak with. Her creations are really well made and just plain fun and fabulous!

Be sure to check out the Beatrice & Lulu Facebook page. And, if you are in the area… stop by the New Bern, NC Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings where they can also be found selling their products.

Crab Pot Designs:

Debbie Roach is always a pleasure to see at the craft show. Aren’t these little reindeer the cutest?!?!?!?! I just love their little faces! Their crab pot Christmas trees are a hit every year! And the lighted gift boxes (also made with crab pots) are perfect for a porch decoration and to go with the crab pot Christmas trees!!

EDIT:

I originally thought that this vendor didn’t have a Facebook page but I was super glad to be wrong! They can be found on Facebook at Crab Pot Designs. I have no idea why I couldn’t find them but do appreciate Lindsey letting me know in the comments!

Rustic Signs & Designs:

Rhonda & Curtis Tillman rocked their booth at the craft show. Such inspirational and fun signs. Well painted and you could tell they were crafted with lots o’ love! An awesome way to reclaim wood and turn it into a piece of art! The Christmas mangers are perfect especially with the customization they can do to them.

Make sure to check them out on Facebook at Rustics Signs and Designs.

A’larita Gourmet Foods:

Of course, my trip to the show would not have been complete without stopping by A’larita’s booth! I had to get some of that absolutely fabulous raspberry pepper jelly!! Oh my word that stuff is so delish! Their caramelized onion jam is also a favorite along with the pineapple & peach salsa!

Tip… take the pepper jelly and spread some over a piece of cream cheese and serve with crackers or slices of apples. Oh my Oh my…. that is one dish that is sure to please the masses!!

A’larita can be found on Facebook at Alarita Foods or at their website alarita.com so be sure to get your orders in right away for the holidays. Hey… the jams or salsas would be great stocking stuffers! (just saying) If you don’t want to wait for shipping just head on down to the New Bern, NC Farmer’s Market on Saturdays to pick up your favorites.

Damsels and Roses:

I was impressed with the name but even more impressed with the great selection of handmade soaps, wax tarts, bath bombs and so many more luscious smelling products from Damsels and Roses.

I really wish you could smell how wonderful my house is right now from the wax tarts I purchased!

Be sure to get your order put in soon for Christmas at their website damselsandroses.com or stop by their Facebook page at Damsels and Roses LLC.

There were so many wonderful vendors that I never got the chance to take pictures of because they were constantly busy. As it was I had to sort of fight my way through the crowds to get the pictures I did.

If I did miss writing about your booth, please forgive me. I guarantee it was not a reflection of your talent. Every single booth was great! It would have been impossible for me to write about all 80+ booths. However, if you would like a spot on this blog, please contact me and I will see if you would be eligible for an Artist Spotlight post all your own.

Over all it was a awe inspiring day. Kudos to my friend Sheri for putting up with all my wanderings and being so patient especially afterward when I drug her all over looking for Christmas craft supplies. I can’t wait to do it all again next year!! Well… maybe not so many trips to Michael’s haha!

If you have questions about any of the vendors please comment below and I will try to find the answer as soon as possible. Also be sure to share this post with your friends and family so they can also see the wonderful craftsmanship.

Special note…. Thank you Sheri for such a great and cheerful day!!

    Reach For The Stars

    Hello, Theresa:

Thank you so much for your blog post on, “Reach For The Stars” . I am really touched by your kind words. I am grateful that I created something that people enjoy and adds a little happiness and beauty in our world. I really enjoyed making each and every one of them; they are all different and have their own personality and make their own statement. In the beginning, when I made the first dozen they looked nothing like they do today;they have evolved to what you saw at the show .

I don’t have a Facebook or a Web site just for “Reach For The Stars” . I am just getting started and The New Bern Show was my first show… It was a test to see how people would respond to my stars. I think they are seasonal and will sell just around the Christmas Holidays and maybe fourth of July….What do you think ?

Thanks again and keep up the good work.

    Cathy Dawson

    • I think the stars could be a little seasonal, but I wonder if you could do other shapes like hearts for Valentines? That would be really pretty. Either way, you do great work and I appreciate your work. Good luck in your crafting adventures.
