Theresa Caroon author of Handcrafted With Grace

Hi, I’m Theresa Caroon.

If you are looking for some inspiration to get those creative juices flowing in your next craft project, or maybe you are in need of some helpful advice to make your life easier, or it could simply be that you are in need of some words of encouragement, well, you’ve definitely come to the right place.

The inspiration for Handcrafted With Grace came from my many friends who constantly told me to write down all of my crafting ideas, tips and tricks for getting through the daily grind easier, and all of the other creative thoughts floating around in this head of mine. I have been told to share my God-given talents with others so, here I am. Writing everything down. All in the hope that my knowledge, faith and creativity can help you and others.

So why read what I have wrote?

I’m so glad you asked. I have been crafting ever since I can remember. Probably since I was old enough to hold a paint brush or pencil. I come from a very talented family of artists and crafters so being creative is in my blood. Whether your a parent, avid crafter or just a person looking for a new idea to try, I am sure that something on this site will either inspire you or encourage you in your own endeavors.

Coming from a Native American background I have been creating intricate seed beaded artwork for 30+ years. In 2005, I opened up Lady T Studio an artisan jewelry business. In 2008, I was awarded as a semi-finalist in the professional category for the Swarovski ™ Create Your Style design contest. The “Crystal Coast Reflections” piece that I entered is now traveling the world with Swarovski ™. If you would like to see the piece and more information just head over to my Beadwork page.

I am a happily married to the greatest man on the face of the planet, well at least in my world! I am also the mother of 3 beautiful, kind and loving, fully grown children. I have spent over 25 years learning and perfecting how to run a house, work part-time or full-time, the ins and outs of running my own business, and still find fun and/or crafty projects for me and my children. I have learned many tricks throughout the years especially with the help of my own craft wizard of a mom guiding me along the way.

I have a Bachelor of Web Development and am currently working on a Master of IT with a concentration in Web Design. My creativity goes beyond the typical craft, art or beading supplies and right into cyberspace! I love taking a blank screen and making it come alive with colors, fonts, textures and images. It’s like scrap-booking on a whole new level.

I am also a Sunday school teacher for the Women’s Sunday school at my church. It is so much fun to share my insights about the Bible and yet I learn so much more from my students. They are a wonderful set of ladies. I hope that I can encourage you in your faith journey just half as much as they have encouraged me.

Overall, the purpose of this blog is to not only write down all of my ideas, but to help others find their way through this big wide artistic crafting world and find sparks of faith along the way. We are all handcrafted by God with a heart full of grace so this blog and the crafts and inspiration found here should also be Handcrafted With Grace.
